Blackjack Game Variety

The object of Blackjack is always the same. It is also governed by some basic rules. But the game is played differently according to the variations that were developed through the years. Blackjack variety is churned out from numerous additional rules that have been applied to the game.

For one, Blackjack is played with different number of decks. Some play with only one to a maximum of eight. Fewer decks of cards mean better chances for a player to win. More decks, meanwhile, mean a higher level of excitement. All the basic rules of the game are left intact regardless of the number of decks used in each game.

Some other Blackjack games allow Splitting and Doubling Down while a few others do not. When both moves are allowed, the player is on the advantage. That is, if he knows how to use such an opportunity well enough. Doubling Down and Splitting are specific moves that you must learn through and through. While you cannot always draw a Blackjack, you can always make the most out of your bet and give it its maximum value. Play along with your options and for sure, you will not come out a loser of a Blackjack game.

Blackjack also varies according to the state it is played. The Las Vegas version is mostly played with two decks. It also requires the dealer to Hit and take another card when he gets a hand that is less than a Soft 17 or a hand where an Ace is counted as eleven. The dealer is also required to stand if he gets a hand better than a 17.

The Atlantic City version, on the other hand, is played with four decks of cards. The game rule also states that the dealer must hit when he gets a hand of 16 and lower and stand when he gets a hand of 17 or better.

There is also a Blackjack game that allows Perfect Pairs, a side bet where you win a payout if you get a pair on the first draw of two cards. The Perfect Pairs bet is automatically lost if you do not get a pair. The payouts on this particular side bet are different according to the suit of pair cards you get. A Perfect Pair, which consists of a pair of the same suit pays the highest, 30:1; a Colored Pair, which consists of a pair of the same color but of different suit pays 10:1; a Mixed Pair, which consists of a pair of different color pays the lowest, 5:1.
